I've spent the last 20 years in tech as an engineer and a builder. Over those two decades I've watched tools evolve completely — and lately, AI has given us the power to build almost anything we can imagine.

Yet with all that power, I still couldn't find a tool that did one simple thing: let me take an idea, a plan, or a messy summary and turn it into something I could actually present — without wrestling with rigid, old-school slide software.

I didn't set out to launch a SaaS. I just wanted a fast, fluid way to get from a thought to a presentable deck, so I could focus on the story and the ideas, not the formatting. So I built MintSlide as a solo tool for my own daily workflow.

From a solo tool to a public app

A funny thing happens when you build something to solve your own genuine frustration — people notice.

Every time I used it to present or pitch, the feedback wasn't about the content. It was about the tool itself. “What are you using for that?” “How do I get an account?”

The compliments kept stacking up, and I realized I'd built something that shouldn't just live on my laptop. MintSlide was too good not to share. Today it's a completely independent, founder-led project — built on 20 years of engineering experience, powered by modern AI, and made for people who just want to move fast and present clearly.

What makes MintSlide different

• Idea → deck in minutes. Describe a topic, paste rough notes, or drop in an AI chat — MintSlide designs a polished, on-brand deck for you, layouts and all.
• Diagrams & charts from your words. It draws real architecture diagrams and data charts, not just bullet points — so complex ideas actually land.
• Refine by chatting. Recolor, rewrite, swap a layout, or redraw a diagram just by asking. Every change applies live, and it's all undoable.
• Yours to keep. Export to a vector PDF or a single self-contained HTML file and present anywhere — even fully offline.

I'll be honest about the money

I don't expect to get rich from this — and I'm not trying to.

The price isn't there to build an empire. It's there to cover the real costs of keeping MintSlide online for everyone who finds it useful: servers, AI, and the tools that make it run. Just enough to keep the lights on, so the app can keep serving people without me subsidizing it forever. If that ever changes, you'll hear it from me directly — no surprise upsells, no bait-and-switch.

The bigger point

More than a slide tool, MintSlide is a small proof of something I deeply believe: anyone can turn a real pain point into something that works and adds value to others.

You don't need a big company, a huge team, or anyone's permission. With one person — or a small, focused team — and the tools we have today, you can build and launch something genuinely meaningful. MintSlide is my example. I hope it nudges you to go ship yours.
